Get ProUse this when events run over years: a native scroll-snap row of events with a year ruler under it that highlights the year in view as you scroll and scrolls to the first event of a year when pressed.
Derived from this item’s props table, because it declares no controls of its own. This item has no standalone playground, so changes update the code, the share link and the AI prompt.
Use it for company histories, project milestones and biographies where people jump by year and the row is a handful of events each.
Do not use it for dense timelines with hundreds of items or when exact dates matter more than the sequence. Use a list with headings.

| Prop | Type | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
events | TimelineEvent[] | - | Each has an id, year, title and text, in time order. |
label | string | - | Accessible name of the timeline. |
The pattern ships with a Testing Library test (timeline-years-snap.test.tsx). Embla needs layout to count snaps, and jsdom has none, so the repo's mockCarouselLayout helper gives the viewport and slides real sizes.
