Get ProUse this when a feed of headlines updates while someone reads: a vertical carousel with three headlines in view, and a "2 new stories" pill that announces the arrivals and only inserts them when pressed.
Derived from this item’s props table, because it declares no controls of its own. This item has no standalone playground, so changes update the code, the share link and the AI prompt.
Use it for live news, scores or activity where new items should not push content around while someone is reading.
Do not use it for a feed that is read top to bottom as a page. A normal list scrolls and prints better.

| Prop | Type | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
headlines | Headline[] | - | The stories in view, newest first. Each has an id, title, category, time and href. |
pending | Headline[] | [] | Stories that have arrived but are not shown yet. |
onShowPending | () => void | - | Called when the pill is pressed; move pending into headlines there. |
label | string | - | Accessible name of the carousel. |
The pattern ships with a Testing Library test (headlines-vertical-new-pill.test.tsx). Embla needs layout to count snaps, and jsdom has none, so the repo's mockCarouselLayout helper gives the viewport and slides real sizes.
