When to use it

Use this when people hop between a few deep locations over and over: storage browsers, project trees, log directories.

Do not use it when you also need pinned favourites (add a separate saved list; MRU entries fall off).

Accessibility

Recent places are a labelled nav with a real list of buttons.
The empty state is a sentence, not an empty box.
The current path is never offered as a destination.

Testing

The pattern ships with a Testing Library test (file-path-bar-recent-locations.test.tsx) that covers the empty hint, pushing the previous place, jumping back with dedupe and the cap.
